PRESS RELEASE

ENTERPRISE4ALL APPOINTS NEW BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT ADVISER

Amir ShafiqEnterprise4All has announced the appointment of Amir Shafiq, who joins the company as business engagement adviser.

Enterprise4All is currently involved in the delivery of several government funded business support initiatives such as the NWDA’s High Growth Programme, the Intensive Start-Up Support programme and the leadership development programme, LEAD. Through these and other schemes, the company is working with new and established businesses within the county and across the wider region, often providing advice and assistance that is entirely free of charge.

As a result of this widening sphere of activity, Enterprise4All has grown its team to include both general business advisers and specialists in disciplines such as finance, marketing and management.

As a business co-ordinator and adviser who has performed similar roles in East Lancashire for the last six years, Amir brings valuable experience to the team. He previously worked for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council where he helped manage the Get Set business start-up programme in Pennine Lancashire and, between 2003 and 2007, he worked with the Asian Business Federation, where he managed a series of very successful support projects in Preston.

Amir will now be working in the Hyndburn, Burnley and Pendle areas, helping established BME businesses through a scheme entitled Micro-business Support in Deprived Communities, which is one of the programmes being delivered under the No Limits initiative. The project is funded by LEGI (the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative) and through it, owners and managers from black and minority ethnic backgrounds can take part in free business workshops and skills development sessions, and groups of companies can come together to participate in bespoke residential programmes that address issues of common concern.

“We are very glad to be joined by Amir,” said E4All’s Chief Executive, Ilyas Munshi. “He has an excellent knowledge both of the area and the needs of BME businesses, and he has considerable expertise that will be a real asset to the team.”
