Enterprise4All has been selected by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) to deliver one-to-one mentoring in Lancashire, as part of a wider network across the Northwest. The Mentoring Programme gives leaders and senior managers a valuable opportunity to work with a dedicated mentor who will develop their leadership and management potential to help them grow their business.

Mentoring gives leaders and senior managers the chance to reflect on their own personal and business performance.  It provides the motivation to build on business success by nurturing strategies that will enable leaders and senior managers to become more innovative and entrepreneurial and therefore enable their business to become more competitive.

Enterprise4All’s mentors are chosen for their sector-specific expertise and in-depth management experience, but equally important are their creativity, their communication skills and their ability to instil confidence in the individuals with whom they work. Always approachable, they offer practical, no-nonsense advice and a real commitment to helping you and your business to succeed.

Some of the benefits of mentoring include:

  • Improved confidence and emotional resilience, with leaders becoming more proactive and solutions focused;
  • Accelerates business decision-making and improves the management of change;
  • Improved business performance;
  • Improved staff retention;
  • More effective succession planning.

Enterprise4All offers access to a wide range of quality assured mentors who will work to the International Standards for Mentoring Programmes in Employment (ISPME). It will provide clients with a shortlist of suitable mentors from which to choose. Mentors will be carefully selected based on their personality, skills and experience.

The Mentoring Programme will enable clients and mentors to set the goals and objectives of their relationship. Clients dictate the tone and the pace. Typically a relationship will last between 6-12 months and take place in an informal setting away from the workplace.

The Mentoring Programme is for leaders and senior managers of small business who:

  • have been trading for a minimum of 1 year;
  • have less than £2m turnover per year;
  • have a leadership/management role in the company;
  • are looking to improve their leadership skills;
  • are looking to grow their business;
  • are not currently receiving NWDA-funded LEAD, High Growth Coaching or Business Start Up Support;
  • are not located in Local Economic Growth Initiative (LEGI) funded areas or in receipt of LEGI funded support.

E4All welcomes enquiries from any eligible business and is particularly keen to help female entrepreneurs, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, the over 50s and people dealing with some form of disability.

Mentors are provided at no cost to the business. Clients just need to commit a couple of hours each month to meet their mentor.

Could you be a business mentor?

Have you lived through the highs and lows of running a business? Got experience, knowledge and wisdom that you can share with your peers? Made a real difference in your business?

If so, why not join the Mentoring Programme as a mentor and give something back to your local business community?

Mentors will listen, challenge and offer insight, knowledge and above all experience, to inspire leaders and managers to develop their ability and potential.

As part of this quality accredited programme, mentors will receive induction and expert guidance to understand the mentoring process fully.  Mentors will also be supported to develop their mentoring skills through a programme of training and networking events.  Mentoring is voluntary; however, out of pocket expenditure such as travel costs will be reimbursed.

Interested in becoming a mentor? If so, please contact us on 0845 607 0786.
