Enterprise4All is working with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) in the North West to promote a range of business support services and events specifically designed to assist the region’s manufacturers. The service offers free advice and support from technical experts, as well as access to a series of free events for manufacturers and engineers.

• Invitations to workshops, tours and other events for manufacturers

The Manufacturing Advisory Service is funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Through the service, manufacturers benefit from a free advisory session with a specialist in the field of production engineering. This can examine a range of subjects, from business development issues to the implementation of lean manufacturing, and will yield a series of recommendations for addressing the beneficiary company’s most pressing challenges and obstacles to growth. Up to two days of free support may be available.

In addition, companies can also take advantage of a programme of free workshops and site visits, which are intended to provide first-hand experience of advanced manufacturing processes.
 
Pictured is one of the first events promoted under the programme by Enterprise4All – a trip to Jaguar Land Rover’s Halewood plant in Merseyside, which is a centre of excellence for lean manufacturing and is now recognised as Europe’s top performing car manufacturing facility. Around 30 local entrepreneurs attended the event, participating in a best practice workshop, a tour of the factory and a demonstration drive in one of the company’s latest Land Rover models.
